What does the name SEVEN mean? What inspired your collections? These are often the first questions I  am asked when discussing my brand with people. In this post, learn about the Woman that inspired our Love Games Collection - Goddess of LOVE and DESIRE Aphrodite...

Aphrodite is the Greek mythological goddess of love and desire. Of course, she was very beautiful and all men (both gods and
mortals) desired and lusted after her. Aphrodite was never a one man woman, and even though she was married she had a hard time being faithful to her husband and brother Hephaestus--and carried on numbers affairs. Ares, god of war, was one of her most noted lovers. He wore armor from head to toe, and happened to be Hephaestus's brother (they were ALL related). Despite their ongoing affair, Hephaestus still loved Aphrodite and frequently made her jewelry to drape over her body. Aphrodite's promiscuity definitely gives life to the phrase "on to the next one" and reminds us that there are "plenty of fish in the sea".

She also gave birth to the infamous Cupid who shot Aphrodite's love-potion filled arrows at unsuspecting victims, helping her fulfill her mission of spreading love and beauty throughout the world. Ladies, I know we would give a leg just to get hands on one of these arrows. Her love-making skills were described as heavenly, and the swan was her symbol representing ultimate beauty and grace.

Why We Love Aphrodite
Although Aphrodite was popular and beautiful, she was still kind, friendly, and had a great personality. Her beautiful soul radiated from within, which is what made her so magnetic and attractive. In reality Aphrodite wasfar from perfect, but she was so enchanting that her mistakes were often forgotten. She never focused on her flaws, she focused only on her beauty.

Like precious stones we all are flawed, but still precious and valuable nonetheless.
